 The Man Behind Radack's Woodworking

Bill Radack's love for woodworking dates back to over forty years ago when as a young boy he was always making something, be it a tree house, a soapbox racer, whatever.  It really didn't matter as long as it involved wood and nails.

Bill's interest in woodworking prompted him to enroll in a vocational school where he learned the trade of pattern making.  After a number of years working as a pattern maker and a stint in the Marine Corps he became interested in boats.  Bill went to work at Manchester Marine as a ships carpenter learning everything from lofting a hull to stepping a mast.  While working at Manchester Marine he did extensive restoration on a  sixty two foot schooner named the"When and If".  This schooner was built for General George S. Patton in 1938 at the Pendleton Boat Yard in Wiscasset, Maine.  General Patton named the vessel the "When and If" with the idea in mind, When and If he would ever have the chance to sail it around the world.  Unfortunately he died at the end of World War II and so did his dream.

Looking for a new challenge, Bill worked as a cabinet maker for several years making kitchen cabinets and entertainment units.  Still not satisfied, Bill decided to start his own business and combine all of his woodworking experience to offer the public.  After more than ten years in business, Bill now has customers from Canada down to Florida and all the way to California.

When he's not in his shop which is almost always, you may just catch him fly fishing a river or stream in Maine.
